William Edmond White III
William Edmond White III deployed with the 3/187th in December of 1967 during Operation Eagle Thrust. He served with Alpha Company. William and another Alpha Company soldier were wounded in action on January 28, 1968 during a combat operation when a command detonated mine exploded. William was medevac'd from the field but succumbed to his wounds on January 29, 1968 at the 24th Evacuation Hospital located at Long Binh, RVN.
William was from Coral Gables, Florida and was twenty years of age. He is buried at Skyway Memorial Gardens, Palmetto, Florida. His name is etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, Panel 35E, Line 64.
