He served as a HHC Medic assigned to Delta Company, 3/187th. Willie was killed in action on May 18, 1969 during the assault on Dong Ap Bia/Hamburger Hill. Willie was from Avon Park, Florida and was twenty years of age. He is buried at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Highlands County, Florida.
