William Eugene Wheeler

William Eugene Wheeler arrived in Vietnam in November of 1969. He served with Delta Company, 3/187th. William was wounded in action on an unknown date when his night defensive position came under attack. He was medevac'd from the field and admitted to a military hospital. He was eventually transferred to Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C. William succumbed to his wounds, at Walter Reed, on July 15, 1970.

William was from Detroit, Michigan and was twenty-two years of age. His burial location is unknown. William's name is etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, Panel 8W, Line 22.
