William Harley Prather
William Harley Prather deployed with 3/187th during Operation Eagle Thrust in December of 1967. He served with Bravo Company. William was killed in action on September 12, 1968 when a task force was formed to come to the aid of a 25th Infantry Division convoy that had been ambushed on Route 22 between Tay Ninh and Trang Bang.
William was from Hartville, Ohio and was twenty-one years of age. He is buried at Hillside Memorial Park, Akron, Ohio. His name is etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, Panel 44W, Line 41.
