William Arnold Gibbs
William Arnold Gibbs deployed with the 3/187th Infantry during Operation Eagle Thrust in December of 1967. He served with Alpha Company. William was wounded in action in the early morning hours of September 6, 1968 during the cordon of the village AP Trang Dau. He was medevac’d from the field and admitted to a military hospital. William succumbed to his wounds on September 11, 1968.
William was from Lakeville, Minnesota and was nineteen years of age. He is buried at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Stanley, Kansas. His name is etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, Panel 44W, Line 25.
