He served with Bravo Company, 2nd Platoon. Thomas was killed in action on March 18, 1968 during an overnight battle with NVA/VC forces in southern Binh Duong Province. Thomas was from Durham, California and was twenty-one years of age. He is buried at Glen Oaks Memorial Park, Chico, California.
