He served with Delta Company, 3/187th. Stephen was killed in action on June 9, 1971 during a combat operation when a booby-trap detonated. Stephen was from Kansas City, Missouri and was twenty-one years of age. He is buried at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.
