Samuel Mena
Samuel Mena deployed with the 3/187th in December of 1967 during Operation Eagle Thrust. He served with Charlie Company. Samuel was wounded on August 31, 1968 due to a booby-trap. Samuel was admitted to a military hospital and eventually to the 106th General Hospital in Yokohama, Japan. On October 19, 1968, Samuel succumbed to his wounds.
Samuel was from Patterson, New jersey and was nineteen years of age. He is buried at Long Island National Cemetery, New York. His name is etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, Panel 40W, Line 4.
