Rolland Keith Fry
Rolland Keith Fry arrived in Vietnam in November of 1968. He served with Alpha Company, 3/187th. Rolland was killed in action on May 2, 1969 during a combat operation on Dong Ngai near FSB Airborne. Alpha Company was on patrol when the lead platoon came under fire. Rolland Fry returned fire and was wounded by a RPG. Rolland continued to return fire when he was mortally wounded by a second RPG explosion.
Rolland was from Hutchinson, Kansas and was twenty years of age. He is buried at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, Kansas. His name is etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, Panel 26W, Line 99.
