He served as a HHC Medic with Alpha Company, 3/187th. Robert was killed in action on October 8, 1968 when the convoy leaving FSB Patton II, heading to Cu Chi was ambushed and hit by RPG. Robert was from Hays, Kansas and was nineteen years of age. He is buried at ST Joseph's Cemetery, Hays, Kansas. His name is etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, Panel 41W, Line 33.
