Raymond Platero

Raymond Platero arrived in Vietnam in July of 1969. He served with Delta Company, 3/187th. Raymond was killed in action during a combat operation when the Boston Whaler in which he was riding hit a land mine. The boat had beached in order to insert soldiers for ambush positions when it hit the mine.

Raymond was from Canoncito, New Mexico and was twenty-five years of age. He is buried at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico. His name is etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, Panel 14W, Line 69.
