He served with Bravo Company. Porfirio and another Bravo Company soldier lost their lives on August 3, 1970 due to a weapons/explosive device accident. Porfirio was from Salinas, Puerto Rico and was nineteen years of age. He is buried at Cementario Municipal De Salinas, Salinas, Puerto Rico.
