Paul David Shamp Jr.

Paul David Shamp Jr deployed with the 3/187th in December of 1968 during Operation Eagle Thrust. He served with Charlie Company and was on his second tour in Vietnam. Paul was killed in action on February 6, 1968 during a combat operation near Fire Support Base Dave when Charlie Company positions came under attack. Seven other Charlie Company soldiers were wounded during this same action.

Paul was from Jacksonville, Florida and was twenty-five years of age. He is buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Jacksonville, Florida. His name is etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, Panel 37E, Line 69.
