He served with Delta Company, 3/187th. Paul was killed in action on May 18, 1969 during the assault on Dong Ap Bia/Hamburger Hill. Paul was from Worcester, Massachusetts and was twenty-one years of age. He is buried at St Johns Cemetery, Worcester, Massachusetts.
