He served with Alpha Company, 3/187th. Michael was killed in action in the early morning hours of September 6, 1968 during a cordon operation of the village of Ap Trang Dau. Michael was from Lancaster, Ohio and was twenty-one years of age. He is buried at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster, Ohio.
