Michael Byron Alvarez

Michael Byron Alvarez arrived in Vietnam in February of 1968. He served with Charlie Company, 3/187th. Michael and five other Rakkasans were killed in action on April 21, 1968 when their position was accidentally hit by friendly artillery fire while out on a combat operation.

Michael was from Madera, California and was twenty-one years of age. He is buried at Calvary Cemetery, Madera, California. His name is engraved on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
