He served with Bravo Company, 3/187th. Leroy was killed during a combat operation during a patrol rest when his weapon accidentally discharged. Leroy was from Jacksonville, Florida and was twenty years of age. He is buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Jacksonville, Florida.
