Larry Scott Rutherford
Larry Scott Rutherford arrived in Vietnam in June of 1970. He served with Delta Company, 3/187th. Larry was killed in action on January 26, 1970 during a combat operation when the Boston Whaler he was riding hit a land mine. The boat had beached in order to insert soldiers for ambush positions when it hit the mine.
Larry was from Horse Cave, Kentucky and was twenty-two years of age. He is buried at Cave Hill Masonic Cemetery, Cave-in-Rock, Illinois. His name is etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, Panel 14W, Line 70.
