He served with Bravo Company. Jesse was killed in action on February 13, 1968 when his night ambush position along the Can Giuoc River (south-southwest of Saigon) made contact with NVA/VC. Jesse was from Los Angeles, California and was twenty-one years of age. He is buried at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
