He served with Delta Company, 3/187th. Jesse was killed in action on June 16, 1968 during a combat operation in Binh Duong Province. Jesse was walking point when NVA/VC were encountered. Jesse was from Silsbee, Texas and was eighteen years of age. He is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont, Texas. His name is etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, Panel 57W, Line 34.
