He served with Alpha Company. Jeffrey was killed in action in the early morning hours of September 6, 1968 during a cordon operation of the village of Ap Trang Dau. Jeffrey was from Baltimore, Maryland and was nineteen years of age. He is buried at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Baltimore County, Maryland.
