He served with Alpha Company, 3/187th. James was killed in action on September 25, 1968 during a combat operation when a firefight erupted. James was from Walla Walla, Washington and was twenty years of age. He is buried at Mountain View Cemetery, Walla Walla Washington. His name is etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, Panel 42W, Line 10. RIP soldier! Never forget. Never forgotten. Photo obtained from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund - Wall of Faces.
