Irving John Brown Jr
Irving John Brown Jr, arrived in Vietnam in November of 1970. He served with Echo Company, Recon Team #1, 3/187th. Irving was wounded in action on October 13, 1971 when around 10:46PM, his team's night defensive position was hit by incoming small arms fire and RPG fire. Recon Team #1 returned fire and called in artillery. Irving was medevac'd from the field but succumbed to his wounds on October 14, 1971.
Irving was from Vacherie, Louisiana and was twenty-one years of age. He is buried at First Baptist Church Cemetery, Vacherie, Louisiana. His name is etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, Panel 2W, Line 39.
