Frederick William McHugh
Frederick William McHugh deployed with the 3/187th in December of 1967 during Operation Eagle Thrust. He served with Charlie Company. Frederick was killed in action on September 7, 1968 during a combat operation near the village of X Sa Nho (2). Due to the intensity of the extended firefight, his body was recovered on September 8, 1968
Frederick was from Bangor Maine and was twenty-one years of age. He is buried at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor, Maine. His name is etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, Panel 44W, Line 4.
