Fred Harrison Osburn Jr.

Fred Harrison Osburn Jr deployed with the 3/187th in December of 1967 during Operation Eagle Thrust. He served with Charlie Company. Fred and two other Charlie Company soldiers were killed on May 22, 1968 when a grenade accidentally detonated in their billets.

Fred was from San Diego, California and was twenty years of age. He is buried at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, California. His name is etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, Panel 66E, Line 1.
