He served with Bravo Company, 2nd Platoon. Farris was killed in action on March 21, 1968 during a combat operation when a hostile force was encountered. Farris was from Cincinnati, Ohio and was twenty years of age. He is buried at Sunset Memorial Gardens, West Irving, Kentucky.
