He served with Delta Company. Cecil was killed in action on March 18, 1968 during an overnight battle with NVA/VC forces in southern Binh Duong Province. Cecil was from Birmingham, Alabama and was twenty years of age. He is buried at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East, Trussville, Alabama.
