He served with Alpha Company, 3/187th. Carlton was killed in action on September 5, 1968 when Alpha Company was inserted into a hot landing zone near the village of Ap Trang Dau. Carlton was from Mobile, Alabama and was twenty years of age. He is buried at Bonner Memorial Cemetery, Choctaw County, Alabama. His name is etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, Panel 45W, Line 40. RIP soldier! Never forget. Never forgotten. Photo obtained from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund - Wall of Faces.
